Dear Mesquite users,
I am having trouble with installations in Mesquite. I just downloaded
version 2.75 (build 564) for Windows from the Mesquite website. I had
previously been using version 2.74, whose folder I renamed to allow
2.75 installation. The installation worked fine, but when I click
File > "Check now for notices/installs", and enter the Mesquite url, a
message pops up asking me to update to 2.75 build 566. I guess the
latest build isn't the version in the Windows installer available on
the website. So I click "Install" only to receive the error:
"Installation was UNSUCCESSFUL; Mesquite will attempt to restore any
previous versions"
This same error message pops up when I try to install the latest
version of PDAP. I don't know why the installations are unsuccessful.
I tried turning off my firewall control in case that was the problem,
but the error persisted. Thank you in advance to anyone who has
advice on how I can successfully install the latest Mesquite build and
PDAP.
Operating system: Windows Vista 64-bit
Java version: 1.6.0_18
All the best,
Jay
