[Mesquitelist] Bugs in Mesquite?

Sylvan's problem arose because one of his characters had more than
two states. The Pagel94 calculations require binary characters
(states 0 and 1 only). Mesquite has a user interface bug, in that it
should have gracefully warned the user that the character couldn't be
used instead of the generating the exception. We'll fix that.
