The MesquiteList has been down for several days.  It is now up again.

By the way, we are working on a major revision of Mesquite.  Some of 
the system-wide changes are planned to be:

-- Windows can be grouped as tabbed panes within a single window, so 
as to avoid window proliferation.
-- There is a new search feature to help you find both features and data
-- Dialog boxes have more information, becoming more like "wizards".

These changes are designed to make Mesquite a bit easier to navigate 
and understand.

-- There is a headless version that can be run without monitor (e.g. 
entirely via command line on a server, and in the background)

-- Mesquite will be restricted to Java 1.4 and above.  Our apologies 
to those running Mac OS 9, but it has become too difficult to 
maintain backwards compatibility (Apple stopped years ago supporting 
Java on OS 9; there isn't much we can do).

If you have any questions or comments on these changes, we'd welcome 
to hear them.

We don't have a clear timeline on this release, but we expect between 
2 and 5 months.
