Mesquite download
If you previously downloaded either the base system or specialized packages,
and intend to download new or updated packages, you should download new versions
of all packages to ensure compatibility. (The base download now includes specialized
packages such as Genesis, Coalescence and Rhetenor.)
There may be addenda or bug fixes since the versions released
below. We don't have a sophisticated updating system in place yet; instead you
may peruse the directory listing of the various addenda/bug fixes. The ReadMe
files will explain the purpose of each addendum/bug fix. CHECK HERE
to see the directory listing of addenda and bug fixes.
NOTE: version 1.0 is NOT fully compatible with modules written for prior versions
of Mesquite, and especially incompatible with those prior to 0.995. Thus, do
not throw away your old copy of Mesquite if you need to use it with modules
such
as PDAP
or
Tree
Set
Visualization
for
which you
do not have a recently released version. Contact the authors of these packages
to find out if a compatible version is available.
The basic class libraries and modules of Mesquite are free software, and may be
redistributed and modified under the terms of the GNU
Lesser General Public License. Source code and developer documentation are
available here. The same license may also apply to specialized
packages of modules.

Download Mesquite
The packages here include the base system and several specialized packages
(parsimony, likelihood, simulations, multivariate analysis, coalescence).
There
are example data files. Please see the comments on the page about publishing
results from Mesquite. Please email us (info@mesquiteproject.org)
with questions or comments about downloading and installing Mesquite. Mesquite
requires Java 1.1 or higher; see installation instructions for details.
