The basic class libraries and modules of Mesquite are free software, and may be redistributed and modified under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License. Source code and developer documentation are available here. The same license may also apply to specialized packages of modules.

Mesquite requires a fairly fast processor and Java 1.1 or higher, and a fair bit of memory.
If you previously downloaded either the base system or specialized packages, and intend to download new or updated packages, you should download new versions of both the base system and whatever specialized packages you want. There have been a few changes to the base system that may make it incompatible with some older versions of packages; likewise, newer packages may be incompatible with older base systems.

There may be addenda or bug fixes since the versions released below. We don't have a sophisticated updating system in place yet; instead you may peruse the directory listing of the various addenda/bug fixes. The ReadMe files will explain the purpose of each addendum/bug fix. CHECK HERE to see the directory listing of addenda and bug fixes.
The packages here include the base system, including only a portion of the modules being developed. Specialized packages are also available. There are example data files.
The packages below can be installed by placing directories in appropriate places in the Mesquite_Folder directory. Follow the installation instructions carefully; if you don't put things in the correct place, Mesquite won't find the files and they won't work.
Below are the specialized packages currently available. Additional packages may appear here in the near future.
